Officers with Guelph Police Service are investigating a pair of vehicle break-ins that resulted in the fraudulent use of credit and debit cards.

Investigators say the break-ins involved two parked vehicles in the area of Victoria Road North and Woodlawn Road East between 5 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. Wednesday.
They say among the items taken was a purse containing credit and debit cards, identity documents and cash.
Investigators say the stolen cards were used later that morning to make purchases. One was at a store near Speedvale Avenue East and Stevenson Street North at around 5:38 a.m. The other was at a store near Speedvale and Victoria around 6:47 a.m.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact Guelph Police Service at 519-824-1212 ext. 7320, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

In the meantime, police are reminding residents that they should not leave valuables in vehicles.
